he Learning Innovation Applied Research Group identify, delineate, evaluate, develop and apply innovative learning methods within global higher education systems; promoting the use of liquid learning, learning that is characterised by emancipation, reflexivity and flexibility so that knowledge and knowledge boundaries are contestable and always on the move; all forms of inquiry-based learning and innovative methodologies, such as interpretive meta-ethnography; a method for synthesising qualitative, interpretive studies. The ARG are also active in the use of new media for learning; particularly in new virtual 3D worlds such as Second Life, and communicating the principles of successful writing and publishing.
